So, what is considered an elopement? Technically, elopements refers to marriages without parental consent. But the way that I define a modern elopement is when 2 individuals wish to get married either alone or with a very select few people (usually just their parents, witnesses, best friends, etc.) without the traditional crowd of guests and reception. Whatever your situation may be, as long as your “guest” count is no more than 10 people, I’ll consider it an elopement. (Though there are always exceptions to the rule!)
